Why? You seem to have an impression Canada must be second choice? If you are
talking just about the money you can mint, yes that is true.
Canada is so diverse & so accepting no country can beat that. You feel like
you are in your home country, only better.
May be some of the people have their reasons to move to Canada but for me it
certainly is not the second choice. I am waiting in queue though

Thank you!

Thank you again for asking! Here are my TOP 10 reasons to moving to
Canada:

#1. Break free From H1B and Green Card YoYo- Buddy Life goes on! With
or without it.

#2. I would like to do without yearly visit to my local INS office.

#3. I am a software Engineer but I want to be free to choose any other
occupation if the economy stinks.
(Don’t get me wrong I am not complaining about the
economy.)

#4. Got my degree from there and don’t want to do PhD just to
keep Student Status.

#5. Don’t want to marry any American women (or men- some people
will do anything) just to get Green Card- But to be honest The idea
did Cross my mind.

#6. I want to live where Muslim and Terrorist is not Synonyms. (I am
not a very good one to begin with.)

#7.I want to bring my Families to live with me without waiting for
years.

#8. I don’t want to be detain Just because my neighbors think I
look like a pilot who
Does not know how to land.

#9. I want to speak to my friend in my language while in a restaurant
without being
Misunderstood as being a threat to the world’s super Power.

#10. I don’t want to be in the same country as BillOReilly.

Pundit,

I loved your Top 10 reasons for moving to Canada. I too am working in
the US as an RF Engineer on H1B, but am waiting in queue for my PR.
Some people will hang on to the US like grim death often giving up on
the very reason(s) they came to the US for. Immigrants migrate for a
better life for themselves and their children. If it takes one 10+
years to become a citizen, if one is stuck like a prisoner in a golden
cage and restricted from visiting one's home, if one cannot just
switch jobs and constantly has to worry about their status should they
get downsized, then all of the above affects their quality of life
considerably. Unfortunately for the starry (and striped) eyed none of
the above matter, and moving to Canada, or should I say, leaving the
US is like the worst thing, even if they are moving to a country where
they will be recognised with a greater recognition then they ever had
in the "Land of the Free".

I don't want to say the Canada is better than the US, but sometimes
Canada is a better choice and that shouldn't be so difficult to
understand.

No, I dont have an impression that Canada is a second only to the US . Infact i just became a canadian PR a month ago. The reason I asked that question is that when I told my friends(in the US) that I am moving to Canada they were talking as if I am making a mistake by not moving to the US instead of Canada. So I just wanted to know if i have made the right decision or not. Hope I have made myself clear.

Cheers

While I can sympathize with some reasons for wanting to leave the US, you appear to be just another pathetic, angry whiner. Good riddance. Are you gone yet?
