Default Going to Buffalo Soon, Anything I Should Bring (other than the obvious)

Hi there,

I was wonder--particularly those who have been to Buffalo in person for stamping--if there was anything at all that they might want to see other than the following obvious items:

Passport Request Letter
Passport
Pictures
Me

I am asking simply because I am spending a ton to fly there on the 18th for this and don't want anything to slip up.

Has anyone been asked for *anything* other than the above, obvious items?

Has anyone been told that they have to come back the next day (should I budget an extra day in case they are unusually busy?)

Thanks if anyone has any input

Yep, just take your passport, passport request letter (Buffalo actually did not give it back to me so make a photocopy before you leave for Buffalo if you want a copy), your passport photos (right size) and yourself. I actually took my photocopies of my entire application but nothing extra was ever asked for.

I got my passport back on the same day and I'm pretty sure that Buffalo make every effort to give it back in the afternoon. To be extra careful, get there as early as you can and be one of the first to have your passport dropped off in the morning to ensure you'll get it back sometime after 1:30 pm in the afternoon.

The security guard who escorts everyone up the elevator is especially helpful and friendly. Enjoy your day, you will feel fabulous at the end of the day

Thanks Ozinca, that is fairly encouraging news. I will be staying at the youth hostel, so it will probably be hard to sleep past 7am anyways--and its right down the block from the consulate.

I will also be landing at Fort Erie, as I have to drive the rental car back to Toronto before I fly back to BC.

Your welcome Inspace. I 'landed' at Fort Erie too and it is all very simple and was extremely fast. Most of the PR applicants who also collected their passports at Buffalo that afternoon drove to Fort Erie straight after leaving the consulate to 'land'.

Good luck, enjoy your day, it is indeed a day I will remember.
