Default GC KEY linking application

Hi all,

this might seem like a stupid question so apologies if it’s an easy answer and there’s eye rolls lol

have sent application off and received 24th April 2019

i am trying to link my old account that I used to apply for my IEC and it says the applicant details

whose details so I put in?

mine as I’m the primary applicant or do my put my husbands as it’s under his name as he is sponsoring me?

when does it normally show up on the page or will we receive an email or letter first?

I have also created a new account using husbands details in case it’s better to just start new but again I put his details on and nothing.

thanks in advance

lucy

No question is stupid if it's something that is worrying you!

You'll probably find one of our excellent Wiki articles on Spousal Sponsorship of use - it explains how to log into MyCIC, when you are able to do so and what to do if you are having problems with it!
You can also log into eCAS, don't forget

Thank you for that,

we dont have an application number as we posted it and have heard nothing for a month. Where do I find that number?

i am putting in all my details and still nothing.
Do I have to put my husbands details in as he is the one sponsoring me or a mix of half and half?

sorry it’s just stressing us out even more now we are long distance again :-(

You won't have that information yet for your husband.. you can use your original number for yours as the Principal Applicant (your husband is the Sponsor). You can also look at eCAS under your old number (the one you had for your IEC - it stays with you)... https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Spous...ter_I_apply.3F

Do have a good read of the wiki article I linked to above and earlier, a lot of your questions will be answered there
What is MyCIC?

In 2016, MyCIC was launched. It's sort of a "next generation" of ECAS. It's meant to be more accurate and gives a bit more information (slightly) than ECAS. Also sometimes referred to as 'GC Key'.

Note that both (or either) the sponsor and the principal applicant can link, but that each will only see the communications relevant to them. For example, the Sponsor will be advised of Sponsor Approval while the PA will not.

Equally the PA will be advised of additional requirements and have the ability to upload them via the portal (if applicable), the Sponsor will not be able to see details of requests to the PA. So ideally, both the Sponsor and the PA will create their own accounts and link to the same application, but in any event, it is probably more important that at least the PA has an account linked to the application.

I saw on the Spousal applications (London) thread that you said you had put your husband down as your representative - or did you put him down as having access to your information instead? - see here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...ge-cancel.html and https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...on-access.html If you put him down as your representative, he may receive any requests for information rather than you - so do make sure that he is checking his email regularly as well as MyCIC once he is able to log in.

The relevant number is the one issued by Immigration Canada... look for the UCI on your IEC work permit if you had one.. not sure what you mean by "Canada Alliance Visas"
Where can I find my client ID/UCI?
Where can I find my client ID/UCI?

This eight or ten digit number appears on all documents you get from us. It looks like this: 0000-0000 or 00-0000-0000.
If you have sent us an application before

Look for this number on:

letters we sent you
your immigration document such as a PR card, study or work permit
It may be some weeks before you receive an acknowledgement of receipt, until then you likely won't be able to find it on MyCIC - if you read through the section on MyCIC in the Wiki I linked to in the 1st post it tells you the steps you need to do and what information you will need to input... it may take a lot of tries before it recognises you (lots of examples of things to try in the wiki )

Then you may not have an UCI - but look on the letters you received from Immigration Canada - if you got an invitation to apply (Official) from the pool then look on that for a Unique Client Identifier / ID number

No letters, I was just in the pool and because I turned 31 I never received an invitation to apply. Such a shame, would have made life much easier!

so will we eventually receive a letter/email with all applications numbers on in the next few weeks? X

Have a read of the spousal sponsorship wiki page, especially the section dealing with the stages of spousal sponsorship. You should received AOR1 4 - 8 weeks after your pack was received in Sydney with the numbers on it.
