Default FSW v CEC

We have been here one year and have just had our TWPs renewed for 3 years. Having had our FSW refused owing to unsatisfactory evidence of previous work experience we are pondering whether to make a new FSW application now that we have completed a year, or whether to wait another year and apply under the CEC.

So, just wondering how 'easy' it is to get a PR via CEC and whether it is worth waiting the extra time for. Although we want a PR sooner rather than later, we are loathe to waste more money. Having been turned down once, we have lost confidence (although I have asked our migration agent to look through the application again to tell us whether there any other potential 'sticking points'.

Any comments gratefully received.

I am a bit confused.
What proof of work experience did you not have?

Letters from past employers etc.
But apparently now that he has completed one year with present employer, all that would be required now is a ref from that employer plus pay slips etc (according to migration agent).

Umm not sure what 'cat 2' is without looking it up.
We are on TWP, job is on the NOC list (can't remember which one without checking. Anyway we need to apply for PR either by FSW or wait another year and do CEC.

If your job is on the list you are talking about Cat 1, in which case I understand what you mean about the proof of work experience.

However, if you are NOC A, B or O you can apply as Cat 2, which is using your LMO and TWP to prove that you have Arranged Employment.

So, if you are in a job A,B or O and you have LMO and TWP then you can apply for PR via either FSW Cat 2 or better still Provincial Nomination which seems to be quicker.

I don't know anything about CEC, though, so you would need to compare those options with that ans see which was your best.
