Re: FSW & Investor 6 Month Pause
my own take on this is, if they put on a pause for 6 months, and clear the 280k backlog, whether its by returning all of them and sorting out the other cases that were part of the recent court case, and end up speeding up the process once they start in january to 3 months or so, it still good. at the moment it take about a year to get ppr through, so if jan onwards processing is about 3-6 months nothing is lost
that just positive thinking i guess

So it just depends on when folk got their ielt's and police reports, and if they will still be valid.
And of course if their job is still on the list.
Sympathies to all those who were about to send their apps

Re: FSW & Investor 6 Month Pause
Does anyone know if this affects applicants who have applied for PR through Quebec with a CSQ? I'm not sure if my PR gets processed as FSW or if the CSQ acts as a PNP application...
Thanks

CSQ cases will be processed as they have been accepted for processing.
CIC will now spend some time returning and refunding the old cases not included in the recent court decision.

Hi
It has accepted 1 of the lead cases of the about 700 cases in the pre 2008.
The Canada Gazette will be published today at 15:00 EST and will outline the changes and the dates of those changes. Some of the Immigration bar are making noises that they will file a class action suit for the 280K in the pre-2008 applications, but it should be interesting to see how it will overcome the legislation that was passed in Bill C-38 which does away those applications which have not received a selection decision.

The instructions are now on the gazette of course. Nothing that we didn't know already - but what was interesting is the tightening up on Study visas.

I should add, it's a notice of intent but invariably - these things happen I guess with Immigration.
