Default FSW cat2 anyone recieved THE email.

I was wondering if any FSW cat 2 applications have recieved the email from CIC saying they will not be issuing visa's before Dec/Jan.

Would be interesting to know if they are separating the files's.

Also. When they give PR to those already here on TWP, does that count towards the overall numbers for each code for the year?

I understood that the numbers cap only apples to FSW Cat1 applications. FSW Cat2 is not capped.

These limits do not apply to applications with an offer of arranged employment."

So are we now thinking that they're going to be using the new cap on people who were in the old(er) systems?

well we've just had AOR for our FSW2 app, which was the usual 'processing time 12 months' affair

Thanks for answering my questions Helcat12

Rubberduckofdeath. I have no clue. I cant for the life of me understand why they are not issuing Visa's until Dec/Jan. I cant work out if it is for specific jobs or what.

Would it be a good idea to stop accepting applications when they are close to filling up the quota? surely this would free them up for 2007 people who have been left out to dry. I know not all app's will be successful, so may be hard to judge number's, but surely they having been doing this long enough to get a feel for where they are?

It seems to me that they have now created a third pile(for want of a better word)

Pile 1 - 2007 people
Pile 2 - those that are now in the new, old system.
Pile 3 - post June 26th

Just seem like chaos.

um, for us, cutting FSW2 numbers would effectively mean once our TWP runs out we are stuck without work and potentially out on the street.

Exactly the same for us - got our AOR about 3 weeks ago (FSW 2).

My TWP expires in March next year, so we will be renewing it.

I'd be interested to know if FSW 2 was processed in any different way. In our case, quotas probably don't make any sense - if we are refused PR, my TWP is not extended or FSW 2 rules change we will move back to the UK, I will work doing the same job from London instead of Toronto, and will pay tax to UK plc instead of Canada plc. I appreciate that's not the case for everyone though.

And those piles are also split into Cat1 and Cat2 (and Family Class and the rest, I suppose).
I have no idea how the staff manage this. It must be a nightmare trying to cross reference everybody with which set of rules they are being processed under. Is anyone really sure how they are counting the quota for Cat 1 anyway i.e. did they start counting with everyone who was granted PR under Cat1 after June 23rd, with those who applied after June 23rd and count them on the day they were received or are they going to count them when they are granted PR ..... ? Any way you look at it, it is an administrative nightmare!
