LynnG is an unknown quantity at this point
Default French proficiency

I need to get a few more points to get me beyond the points requirement for the visa application. Does anyone know if there are any French courses in the UK that could be completed in 1 year to enable me to gain a basic proficiency and hence a few more points?
Thanks

check night classes in your area
I would respond directly but you are using British ex pats which has SO
MANY problems and is only a portal.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it is easy to gain points for French as
second language by taking a new night classes.
The night classes may help you if you are going to live in QC, but probably
won't help you get a good score on the TEF.

Of course, I could be wrong because I personally know no French.

<snip>
The UK has quite an extensive array of night classes esp. language.

They range from beginners to quite advanced.

Had I needed, then I would have looked at these as a means of preparation
for TEF.

Of course I would not have made that my only source of learning.

The only difference being that in Quebec they don't appear to speak real
French.

Don't believe me?
Having sent machine and installed tools up there, then having to go and put
them back to English display because operators didn't understand them. I can
assure you its true.

I guess there is "International French" and Canadian French.

But TEF seems to be based on real French (the international kind)

Sorry if this upsets anyone over in Quebec but "when the cap fits"
