Default Form 5481 Application to Sponsor - would a "homemaker" be employed or unemployed?

My wife is completing form IMM 5481 - Sponsorship Evaluation in order to sponsor me for Outland Family Class PR. My wife has been taking a few years off from her career to raise our daughter, so currently does not work.

I'm wondering if we should note her as "Unemployed" (tick 2a) and then explain why (by choice)? Or should we note her as "Employed" (tick 2b) as a homemaker? Or even "self-employed" (tick 2c) as a homemaker?

Unemployed usually has connotations as searching for work, which is not correct for our situation.

Many thanks!

Is she receiving a salary? (Basic question regarding basic definition of employment).

If the answer is no, tick unemployed. As long as your wife is not receiving welfare payments, it doesn't matter. I.e. No "connotations".
