Default First steps to a new life.

Hello all, I am new to this site and I am in need of some advice. My wife 3 year old and myself are looking seriously at immigrating to Canada. I have family residing in Canada and they immigrated over 5 years ago now and are loving it. I am I Human Resource specialist with a foundation degree in Human Resource Management and Practices (Canadian diploma equivalent). I need advice whether or not to complete the immigration process by myself or to hire a law firm (currently looking at David Cohen but it's very pricey). I am confident I can complete the process but I just wanted other people's experience and advice. My core CRS points is 411 and also wanted to know if this was any good? I obviously haven't applied for any jobs or the PNP yet as I am gathering as much information as possible before we commit.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

Hi, and welcome to BE.

There's no need to use an immi consultant unless you have complicated circumstances, most on the forum do it themselves. If you're happy gathering paperwork then you should be fine, particularly now you've found BE!

411 isn't enough to get you PR at the moment (the lowest the points have ever gone to is 450), so you'd need to boost them with a job offer or something else going on that, but you never know, they may drop in the future.

Best of luck with it all.
