Hi

I applied for Canadian citizenship about three months ago and I just received a letter
requiring fingerprints. Is this normal?

Yes, it is quite normal. Your fingerprints are needed by RCMP to finish their
background check.

IIRC, it's only if the applicant has lived in Canada or a nation besides the one
from which they are applying for 6 months or more.
