Default Financial Support for People sponsored for Immigration

Hi,

I have been sepatated from my spouse

4 months back I lost my job and was given a severence package.
My lawer told me that I had to pay child support and baby sitting from
that as well since it is treated just as pay. The severence package
will end in June and after that I will be on Employment Insurance
(EI). I shall be getting approx 1200/net month. It is very difficult
from me to manage my upkeep on this amount. Some years back I and my
spouse had co-sponsored my parents for immigration to Canada and as
such both of us are legally bound to their financial support for 10
years. I have been taking all the financial obligations on my
shoulders till now, but I have realized that it is impossible for me
to pay my rent ($800,) financially maintain my parents in Canada, pay my bills,
pay child support, and on top pay baby sitting on $1200.

I was having a good salary before and the figures did not matter. Now
with an income of 1200/mon every dollar matters. In fact I

Some people have adviced me to ask her for my parents maintenance
which as a co-signer she is legally obliged to.

Can you please advice.

Thanks,
Dave

Are your parents unable to work so you don't have to support them?
