Default Finally got it the passport request

Hi,

I would like to thanks for everyone on this forum for promptly replying my queries.
Today I got a letter from Buffalo office to send in my passport for PR visa.

My time lines are

applied on 13 oct. 2001
AOR Nov 2001
Assessment letter Nov 2002
Medical sent 22Mar 2003
Passport request 5 May 2003

I see on the letter 2 options

1. passport can be sent by mail
2. Passport presented in person.

Can any one tell how many days it is taking to get the passport by mail.

If I go buffalo and give my passport in person can they return the passport the same day.

Congrats!

In our letter it indicates that passport will be sent back in 15 days by mail (we'll see)

it also says that it can't be picked up the same day.
it was from Buffalo too.

congratulations salmaan. You waited a few months for medicals. Were you asked to wait for 6 months?

Did they ever ask you to send updated FBI documents or any other documents for the second time? My timelines are similar to yours. I did my medicals in April and waiting am for a reply.

I would appreciate if you could also answer these questions

1. Where are u located? What is your country of origin?

2. You would have sent the Police clearance docs with the application. Did they ask you to submit that again?

Congrats, Salman. So, you just sent the FBI certificate? No certificate from the Indian consulate in the US or your local police-station from India?

Thanks.

Thanks for the response Salmaan, I have one more question, when did they ask you to re submit the FBI fingerprints and when did you do it? Thanks in advance.

Since our timeline is almost identical, I'd appreciate an update as to
how long before your passports are returned and you receive landing
papers.

For the record, here's our story:

Family of 4 from Kansas, US citizens, wife as principle applicant

Application Oct. 15, 2001 included all fees, prepared by wife
AOR: Nov 01
Applied and received STUDENT VISA (husband): May 02
Moved to Vancouver Island: Aug 02
Assessment & interview waiver: Nov. 02
requested to wait 6 months for medicals
no additional info required
Medicals scheducled: May 22, 2003
Wife gets a job in her field (Marketing Communications): ?????
still looking!

What did you mean "it can't be picked up the same day"? When the stamped
passport can be picked up? or you just can't pick it up, they will mail it
to you anyway?
