Default filed for a PR from US- can I work on a temporary permit in canada

Hi I had filed for PR last year from Buffalo consulate - have received AOR & Pin. A
multinational firm is offering me a posting in Canada. Am I allowed to work on a
temporary work permit in canada while the PR is being processed? I am a working in US
on a temporary work permit (H1) at present. Thanks for any suggestion

Yes, you may apply for Employment Authorization while your PR application is pending.

Hi:

Generally, to obtain a temporary employment authorization, your employer must first
obtain job validation from Human Resources Canada and you must be a bona fide
"visitor" to Canada. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. You may want to
review CIC's various operations manuals on this topic at
http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/...W-e/index.html

PIN stands for personal identification number. It is being issued by Buffalo to those
applying from US and Canada for use when checking status of the file over the phone.

Hi Thanks for your response I looked at the manual : Just wanted to confirm this
a) My employer is willing to obtain a job validation from human resources - from what
I understand that is a dual intention visa - much like H1 in US and will be
therfore not be subject to any denial arising out of declaration of immigration
intent by filing for PR.

Queries: Will being in Canada hasten my PR in Buffalo post(this is where I filed my
PR from) in case I am called for an interview in US - do I have to obtain US visa I
also could not find the timeline for obtaining a job validation in Canada Thanks
for any help
