Default File in LA!

Hey guys,

After going down the BCPNP route, applying as a skilled worker to Buffalo and completing my meds, my file is now at LA.

I am wondering what to expect now? They said not to contact them within 3 months. I know they will request my passport and then I will need to pay for my PR card. I have been tracking other people's timelines and am thinking this will take probably about 4 months.

I did not send in my residency fee with my meds though so I am hoping this will not delay it much.

I have been working in Canada for over 2 years and have been tied to the company I work for during that time. I am pretty much at the end of my tether with my job. I realise I am nearing the end of this whole process (I hope) but every day I just feel like jacking it all in and heading back to the UK. Has anyone else been in this situation where the nearer PR is, the more disillusioned they feel with their decision to move here.

I just wish I knew I had 3 months left in this hell-hole of a job because then I know this would make me feel better!

Yep, I'm in a similar boat. Been on my work permit for almost 2 years as well and I'm sick of with my work situation too. But I chose it and it's a means to an end, once PR comes through we'll both have our freedom!

I would send the RPRF fee off now by the way, since CIC say it can add about 2 months to the processing time if you don't. I'll certainly be sending mine off the same time as my medicals.

Thanks so much for your reply. It's nice to hear someone else is in the same boat. Of course, you're right about it being a means to an end!

I was just wondering if I send the fee to LA and if I have to send any paperwork with it. I think I read somewhere that you can do it online too?

Thanks for your help!

Emma
