Default FEDERAL VS PROVINCIAL PROGRAMME

Hi guys,

I qualify for both federal and quebec provincial programmes. I heard
that the provincial quebec programme takes less time as the federal
programme is crowded with applications. Is this true? Also if i land
in quebec, is it true that I have to stay in quebec for 2 years or so
before i can apply for citizenship?

Thanks for your advice.

No. Immigration is processed on a federal level.

No. Essentially, you can land in Quebec and then move to Vancouver the
next day. Citizenship requirements are the same for everyone and are also
processed on a federal level.

Hi,

After you finish the provincial selection process, you will have to
submit the application to federal office for the completion of the
immigration process(i.e medicals, background checks etc). I was told
once the papers are received by the federal office, they will not
differentiate between your papers(thru. Provincial selection) and direct
federal applications.

I am not sure how long the backgound checks will take.Any where from 3 to
6 months(i think).

As for the requirement of stay in Quebec, i do not have an answer.

Good luck.
