Hoping that some one will be able to help on this one, sorry if it's been asked million times before, but then again each post seems to have different spin to it.

I am about to send request for FBI security clearance.

1. Is there a standard form to complete and send? Or only cover letter is required?

2. What additional supporting documents would be helpful- copies of drivers license, passport etc, and if so, do these need to be notarized by the local US consulate? I already have obtained the local police 'certificate of character' which I will include in the file.

3. Do I need to wait until visa post requests for this, or is it a better idea to mail it across ASAP?

I am NON US citizen living in UAE currently, and have previously resided in the States for several years.

I am in a tearing hurry to forward the FBI clearance request, however, would appreciate inputs from you guys to ensure that I am sending all the necessary documents.

You need your fingerprints taken and submitted to FBI See:http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/...-en.asp#how_us for the instructions. You need it when you submit your application to London.

My AOR is October 2004. No IA yet. Visa post London.

Could you suggest if I should forward the FBI clearance ASAP (but certificate may have validity for certain time period, in which case I may later need to obtain another one from FBI in lieu of expected processing delays)? Or do I wait until visa post requests for it?

What say you?
