Default Fast-tracked PR

I thought this might be of interest to those hoping to fast-track. We are already in Canada on a work permit with permanent employment. We posted our PR application to London on 15th October and received medical requests today - pretty quick! By the way, does anyone have any idea how long it takes once you've had the medicals done?

About a couple of months seems to be standard. Might be a bit less, might be a bit more.

Edit: that is, a couple of months to get PPR, then another month or so after that.

Ours were really quick, after meds were done till passports picked up in London only about a month. We were really surprised. So you might get lucky.

Hi Moose Mug

We too are working in Canada and had our med requests a month after sending in our PR.

CIC received med info and our landing fee in October, but haven't heard anything yet. Time is moving for us as we have to renew our work permit mid december which seems to be a waste of time and money if our PR is hopefully so close....

Pete

Thanks for all the answers and that's bad luck about maybe having to renew your work permit. I know someone in a similar position as he is waiting for his citizenship but may have to reapply for PR if it doesn't come through in time. I hope you get yours in time.

Why would his PR expire just because his citizenship doesn't come through on time? (that makes no sense).
