Family Sponsorship - Nearly there!

I was wondering if anyone had experience similar to ours? We applied for PR through London, travelling regularly back and forth to Canada and the UK, trying to care for my mum. but never staying longer than 3 months at a time. We bought a cottage and decided to stay there for the summer this year. It's great, we love it, and it's good enough to be a year-round place.
My mum's health is not getting any better so in late April I emailed the embassy in London and asked how we could change our application to a "within Canada". They replied pretty much straight away and said our application would be dealt with within two months.
They kept their word.
Seven weeks later we were asked for our medicals, police certificates and the revised forms to be returned.
The date to return all this stuff is next Friday, as we are in Canada we are waiting for some information to arrive from England but we're all ready to go.

My question is, how long should we expect to wait from sending in the documents to (hopefully) being granted PR... assuming that we do!

We are planning on booking a flight to go back to the UK and want to "land" for the first time as soon as possible.

These forums have been really helpful to us over the past few years and hopefully my questions will also help others in the same situation.

Re: Family Sponsorship - Nearly there!

It's a bit of a piece of string question I'm afraid, depends on how long background checks take and they vary hugely from person to person. You can look at the timelines spreadsheet on the spousal timelines thread to give you an idea though.

EDIT: Sorry, just re-read your previous posts and realised it's not a spousal sponsorship. Tbh, appylying for PR as an adult child is so unusual that I don't think you'll find anybody on the forum who has been down that route and can share their timeline. Certainly nobody springs to mind anyway. I'd expect background checks to take quite a bit longer as they'll need to check your Mum has no other family members in Canada etc, but that is only a guess I'm afraid.

Good luck, hope you hear something soon.
