Hello:
Is there a way for my sister to sponsor
me for Canadian permanent residency?
She's a landed immigrant. Does she have
to be a Canadian citizen to sponsor me?
Can I get a canadian Landed immigrant
status once she becomes a citizen? Is
this possible via family quota? I hold
a US passport.
Thanks.

If you look on the website www.cic.gc.ca under
family class you will see
that a sibling can only be sponsored in very rare cases.
Most common is if your sister was sponsoring your parents and you were their
dependant.
Otherwise really you have to be an orphan, under 18 and not married. Or she
must have no other living relative in Canada or whom she can sponsor.
So unless any of those situations are true which is unlikely then the short
answer is no, you will have to qualify on your own.
