Family Class (Spouse) Application CHC London - How much longer?

Family Class (Spouse) Application CHC London - How much longer?
Grateful for advice from others applying through CHC London in Family Class (Spouse) category. My wife and I have been married and living in England since 1997. She sponsored me in February 2004.
This is our timeline: 31 months and counting
2 Feb 2004 - Sponsorship and permanent residence application sent to CIC Mississauga
9 March 2004 - Sponsorship approved
22 March 2004 - AOR from CHC London
7 March 2006 - Security interview
September 2006 - File still awaiting results of routine background checks. Not possible to say how long this will take.
Have also enquired through Canadian MP's office about status of application but no further information available.
Anybody with similar experience of waiting since early 2004? Or any ideas on how much longer this could take?

Almost all of spousal applications are processed in London in under 8 months. You obviously have some serious security problems that concern Canadian authorities rather greatly. Your case is quite unique and nobody can tell you when it will be concluded. If you tried MP's office and no info available it can only mean one thing - big security concerns.
