I am a PR who wants to sponsor my parents. As part of the sponsorship approval process,
the application has been forwarded to the visa office where my parents
live. Has anyone had similar experience ?

This is standard practice in the processing of family class sponsorship applications. Some
cases are part of a trial process in which cases are processed entirely within Canada, if
possible, but this is not the standard procedure.
