Default Extending rather than renewing TWPs?

Is there a difference between renewing and extending a TWP?

Can one only extend a TWP if the job is LMO exempt?

It's the same thing really. If the job is LMO exempt there should be no problem extending (except for a BUNAC visa - you cannot extend that) provided you still meet the definition of a temporary worker (i.e. you are still hear temporarily). Where the job is NOT LMO exempt then there must be a new LMO.

I would also recommend that you consider making a PR application if you plan to be here for any length of time rather than staying on a TWP long-term.

Thanks, I just wanted to clarify the terminology, having read a few threads referring to extensions. So new LMO it is, unfortunately.

I have applied for PR - I'm waiting on PPRs but they don't seem to be forthcoming. Our TWPs run out in a couple of months though, so I'm going to have to play it safe.
