Extend visitor record for child in school

Ok here goes, to anybody who can please help I very much appreciate it.

I'm here on a two year iec visa.
My son came over beginning of September (after me) on just the usual 6months visitor from the uk. He's 12 and he's been attending school.

His visitor status will expire the beginning of March and I'm wondering what I should do? Do I just extend his visitor record? Does he need a study permit?

I'm applying for common law PR at the end of March so just trying to work out the correct way to go about things.

Any help much appreciated.

Extend his visitor record and supply IRCC with details of your work permit

Extend your stay in Canada as a visitor

No study permit required.

When you make the application (online), don't forget to upload a copy of the passport page showing the passport stamp that your son received on arrival as he did not get a Visitor Record.
