Hi all,

Got a question about Common Law forms.

I've been invited to apply for PR through Canadian Experience Class in Express Entry with my spouse (I am lead applicant).

At the bottom of the IMM5409 form, it's implied we need to get our declaration of common law form adminstered by someone like a notary? Is this the case and if so, how easy is it to get someone quite quickly? I only have 9 days left to submit...

You should get the stat dec administered by a notary or a commissioner for oaths in your province. If you call around (google search), you should be able to find someone as a walk in (it's easy in BC).

If you have difficulty, I will PM you with a suggestion of someone in Toronto I know if you want.

I use notaries in North Vancouver because I live there. There are so many, if one notary can't do it, they can usually recommend someone else who can.

If you get stuck, I will let you have some names of people I've used (for myself).

Well if you can get him to stick to his $10 claim on the website you're doing well!

The usual fee I've paid is around $25-$30.

Express entry invitation have stayed quite a bit lower than last year. Scores are higher as a result. Anyone have any information about this?
I read on an unofficial site that the Canadian government are concentrating on family visa's rather than skilled workers now.

I tried to google this to see if I could find any articles regarding the predictions of the number of ITAs in future draws but it all seems to be hear say.

I found a few regarding making it easier for international students like this one:

John McCallum pledges to make immigration easier for international students - Nova Scotia - CBC News

Nothing specific on express entry scores though

I couldn't find much either, at the current score level I'm about 5 points away! Hopefully they increase numbers or I land a job willing to sponsor me... unlikely as I want an engineering job in Calgary which in the current market isn't great!

That's a high score, very difficult to get that with no job offer.

It could be that they have a backlog (especially of applications pre January 2015.)

This is their way of dealing with it.
