I don't live in Canada myself anymore, but I have applied for PR myself and also worked for an immi consultant for years. FWIW, there's no way we would have taken on a client with only 360 points and told them it was 'only a matter of time'!

It might be worth having a free consultation with another immi consultant and getting a 2nd opinion - just avoid the visa agencies such as Visa Migrate, Visa Bureau etc, make sure whoever you go to is licensed and/or a lawyer.

They do regular draws, picking the top scorers each time. There have been several draws since August. Your profile will expire in August 2016 if you've not been picked by then.

HTH.

Problem which is bad on my part, is that I didn't do enough research my self, but I have learnt a few things about this process. I had the impression from my husband that everything is going to work out and they have it covered. Clearly its a hopeless case, I want to turn the tables around. What would you recommend apart from a job offer? should I apply to jobs myself and do you know any helpful agencies in Canada who could help. Or should we just wait and see. I am confused ???

It's really up to you, you can wait and see if you want, but you can see for yourself from the previous link I gave you that most of the other draws have been at around 480 or higher.

A job offer/LMIA would get you an extra 600 points so guarantee that you'd be selected, there are no agencies that will do it for you though, you'd need to get out to Canada and job hunt in person - have a read of the Job Hunting section of the Wiki for more info on how to go about finding that all important job offer. Your chances will depend on what you do and how specialist your skills are really.

If you're not in a hurry, then you could wait for a few months on the off chance that points drop that low. Or if you do want to be out there next year, then get job hunting or look at study permits for your husband.

Best of luck.

Thank you so much that's amazing and you have been a great help :-) would you mind if I ask you more questions in the future. Because I feel as if I trust what you have said to me as and confirmed the doubts in my head. :-)

1. Applications for an ITA in Express Entry are valid for 1 year, if you don't receive an ITA within the year, your application is deleted and you would have to re-apply.

Have they set any 'maximum' processing times? I mean, I'm only at 4 months so far, and they say they hope to get most done within 6, but I'm just curious, if it goes over 6, presumably the time frame is indefinite?

Hello,
Just wondered if anyone knows where there is a checklist of the documents that you need to submit once you receive an ITA - the instructions say obtain the documents you need (see checklist). I can't seem to find this checklist. The only info I see is this:
Apply – Skilled immigrants (Express Entry)
Or is there another checklist somewhere?
Many thanks in advance.

You'll get your (personalised) document checklist when you receive ITA & apply.

Prior to that, no, there isn't one available.

Isn't it generated as you complete the application? Or am I imagining that/being a bit brain dead tonight?
