Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Fellow BE members,
I thought I would start a thread where people can list their scores and update others on progress of their Express Entry applications. Happy to share mine, Admin's please feel free to delete if "timeline" type posts are not encouraged. Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I was just thinking that it would be good to start a thread like this for people to track EE scores and be able to gauge how they may fall within the pool, nice to see someone already did it :)
I've submitted my profile: Points: 526 Eligible for CEC and FSWP Current working in Canada in a permanent role so essentially a job offer however no LMIA yet. Have been filling out paperwork for BC PNP Express Entry priority stream as a means to getting that extra 600 points however from looking at various forums and reading some articles, it looks like there are not many candidates who have an LMIA supported job offer and many PNP nominees are finding that their PNP nomination isn't usable for points due to that province not having integrated with EE properly yet. It sounds like CIC are expecting that in the first couple of draws at least, most of the people receiving ITAs will be selected on their base points until the provinces sort things out. |

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I wonder at what level they will give you your ITA? Or is this written down somewhere and I just can't find it?
|
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
There is no set minimum score, it's basically a case of sort everybody in the pool and skim x amount of candidates off the top.
|
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
My scores (although haven't processed through EE yet):
Overall Score 506 CRS - Human Capital - Age 110 CRS - Human Capital - Level of Education 120 CRS - Human Capital - First Official Language Proficiency 136 CRS - Human Capital - Second Official Language Proficiency 0 CRS - Human Capital - Canadian Work Experience 40 CRS - Skill Transferability - Language/Education 25 CRS - Skill Transferability - Language/Foreign Work Experience 50 CRS - Skill Transferability - Canadian Work Experience/Foreign Work Experience 50 CRS - Arranged Employment 0 CRS - Provincial/Territorial Nomination 0 So if I was lucky to get an LMIA or PNP (assuming I can get my IEC) then I should be in a pretty good position. Although bearing in mind what people have said above, regarding the slow progress of PNPs in various territories, I'm inclined to just get my application in ASAP, and try my luck at getting picked out without PNP/LMIA. Does anyone know a) the frequency of the draws and b) how long you can stay in the pool before having to re-apply/re-enter? EDIT: Answered my own question: "Candidates can stay in the pool for up to 12 months. If they do not get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence within 12 months of submitting an Express Entry profile, they may submit a new profile. If they still meet the criteria, they can re-enter the pool. This will prevent backlogs and ensure quick processing times." |
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Can I just ask have you needed official language tests results to complete the initial profile? My husband has his exam on Friday in Toronto and the 20th will mark a year of experience (he has an LMO number)... Would just like to get the whole thing started!!! Impatient now- I wonder how long will PR will take for people- it will be interesting to keep tabs!

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
You need test results to complete the profile.
|
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Thank you... I was hoping to have a profile submitted before the first draw but we were a bit tardy booking his english language test. Ho hum!

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
The tests are filling up fast. Mine is on 13th February (earliest date I could get a week ago), to convert my existing BC PNP Application into EE.
Probably won't speed up the PNP bit (which should come through in April anyway), but will speed up the CIC bit! |

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I went for the CELPIP as well, as it's only 3 hours rather than a whole day+.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Can you submit an application, then add education score and PNP points after? Or do you have to submit an entirely new application?
I.E. If you had IELTS test results, but not had your degree converted or your PNP approved, could you get your application in, and then add the others on later? |

No. ECA and language results must be input for EE So you have to submit it all in one go, you can add 'new' bits later? What happens if you have an EE application, then get PNP after, do you have to withdraw your applicaiton for EE, then resubmit it, or can you just amend it? |

Unless FSWP requires it then perhaps you'd be prevented from creating a profile since you'd first need to qualify for FSWP. I know there are people that have created profiles without ECA results so far and you can update them. But you do definitely need your IELTS results to start. |

I'm pretty sure you don't need your ECA results straight away, you just won't receive points for your education unless you have it.

Hi
Please read the instructions you need the ECA and your ielts Fill out your profile – Skilled immigrants (Express Entry) Here it states that you don't require an ECA if you have a year's worth of Canadian Experience (for CEC) or are experienced in a skilled trade (for FSTP). You will need to take a language test. We will use your test results to see if you are eligible to immigrate to Canada under one of the federal programs that are part of Express Entry. If you were educated outside Canada, you may need to have your educational credentials assessed against Canadian standards. This is not mandatory if: you got at least one year of recent work experience in Canada, or your work experience is in a skilled trade (skilled manual work). |

Fill out your profile – Skilled immigrants (Express Entry) Here it states that you don't require an ECA if you have a year's worth of Canadian Experience (for CEC) or are experienced in a skilled trade (for FSTP). It then goes on to say that even if you don't require an ECA, you may want to obtain one otherwise you wouldn't receive points for education. |

Of course it does make it clear that the higher amount of points indicate ability to settle in Canada and it does look like they literally go on a points system and no one really knows how many that is, so I think it's wise to go for as many as is technically possible.
Also remember you can update your profile as time goes on, if you're waiting for ECA results but you are able to create a profile without them, there is no downside to submitting the profile in the interim and then updating it with the ECA results later. |

Yes it is obviously better to have the most points possible, my point is that you do not always need ECA results to create your profile in the first place.

Mmm I feel like first go might be anybody's best shot... As it happens for us, my husband needed ECA to be able to work anyway so we have it all ready to go. Hubby is sitting the English language test as I type so just have to wait for results of that and his complete year on the 20th of this month!
Is he doing IELTS or CELPIP? IELTS is quicker at getting the results out I believe, you might just scrape in assuming the draw is at the end of the month? Otherwise you'd be all set for the next one for sure :) |

That's cool, I meant it more for people that haven't started the ECA process yet or don't have a chance of getting it before the first draw, nothing to lose by getting a profile in just in case :)

Have you sorted out police check etc ? Are you in Canada? |

Mm it will be close... I know it shouldn't matter to wait an extra month but having made a decision i just want all the tiresome/time consuming paperwork out of the way so we can get on with living especially with a baby on way in March.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Police checks are only valid for 3 months though aren't they? Was wondering whether we should be asked to apply before sending off- going to get pics and paperwork ready though!!

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Hi,
I have started to complete my EE profile and I was just hoping for some advice please? My highest level of edu is a bachelors degree, for which I had an ECA completed, I have entered this into my profile, but do I also need to enter my high school and sixth form education too? Also what did people out for the work history question where they have asked for the date you became qualified to practice in this occupation? I wasn't sure how to answer this one as I am an admin assistant and so didn't have to complete a course/receive a certificate to do this job, would it be the date my degree was completed or the first day of my first admin job? Sorry I may just be over analyzing the questions in the profile!! Many thanks |
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Hi, sorry for asking another question!
I was hoping for some advice please. I submitted a profile and it came back ineligible. I think I know where I have made the mistake, but it won't let me amend or delete this failed profile. In MyCIC it just has the profile with an application number attached and says transmitted and will only allow me to view the form. Is it acceptable for me to create another profile, but under the same MyCIC account? On MyCIC page there is a section that says What Would You Like To Do Today and one of the options is Apply For EE? If I were to select this do I use this is there a way to link up my old failed profile with hopefully the new correct one? Also when entering the WES ECA report number in to the EE profile is that the WES reference number on the assessment page and without the letters at the end of the reference? Many thanks! |
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Anybody heard anything about the first draw?
We haven't submitted a profile yet as we forgot to get the actual results of the ECA so have to wait a further 10 days to get them. Good news is that we have the CELPIP results.... Almost perfect score although my husband is actually very cross that he doesn't know where he would have lost the point on the writing section. Hoping we can get a profile in soon! |
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Ministerial Instructions will be posted online and will contain the date and time of each draw, the number of candidates that receive an ITA, and if it applies, which specific immigration program(s) were included in the draw.
From here: Express Entry System CIC will post it on their site, Canada Gazette and probably on Twitter shortly before it happens. They had planned to do the first draw during the last week of January, however that doesn't look very likely to me at the moment as the Canada Gazette doesn't get published until Saturday or failing that every second Wednesday. But who knows really.. |

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
There has been nothing from CIC.
|
Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I tried to post this earlier but it didn't work for some reason: Ministerial Instructions will be posted online and will contain the date and time of each draw, the number of candidates that receive an ITA, and if it applies, which specific immigration program(s) were included in the draw
That's from the CIC website, they will post the draw date on the website and in the Gazette which comes out each Saturday and every other Wednesday. |

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Does anyone know if there is a restriction on the number of classes you can apply under?
I may be missing something but it looks like everyone who meets the requirements for FSW will also meet the requirements for CEC. Does this mean that these applicants will be entered into the draw for both FSW and CEC or are they only entered into one? |

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I meant more for new applications.
If people are applying now for FSW class through express entry, they will also meet the requirements of the CEC. If they are then entered into the draw for both CEC and FSW they will have a better chance of being invited to apply as they will most likely outrank applicants who only qualify for CEC. If that is the case then I don't understand why there still are differing classes or requirements. |
