Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
I think the score will drop a lot as the processing of the old system application backlog happens over time.
What I can't seem to find anywhere are express entry targets for CIC in 2015. If there are some, that'd be useful in predicting where the score is going to stabilise at long term as we know how many invitations have been issued since January.
At the moment, everyone that applied previously for PR, that would use EE if they started today, are still getting their PR by the old route and count towards the 2015 185,000 economic immigrant target. I think when the old system backlog is cleared then the number will go down, the question remains by how much ....

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Hi Guys,
I, via my agent, applied for PR via the new Express Entry system at the end of may
Has anyone who has went via this new system actually got PR yet?
I`m trying to gauge timescales
Am I correct in saying that I read somewhere that they guarantee to have a decision within 6 months at the most?
Sorry if I sound a bit clueless but like I said my agent dealt with it and I simply supplied them with whatever they asked for without really getting too wrapped up in it
Thanks

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
They AIM to process 80% of Applications within 6 months.
You shouldn't need an Agent for Express Entry.

That is of course from the date you submit your paperwork, not the date you submit your profile, or even get your ITA.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
today is 3 months since application/AOR date and 7 weeks since my last update (bg check went in process) - Ecas remains unchanged (app received)
Think we will be waiting a while longer yet.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Hopefully, you won't be too much longer.
Today, my son received a letter stating his PR application was almost complete and needs to send a photocopy of all passport pages, 2 photos and the completed bio form.
He received his ITA April 10, submitted application May 7, medicals passed May 22, and additional documents required, background checks in progress May 29. No updates since then, until today.
Good-luck

Hi Guys,
Me and my husband together have 376 points. Does anyone think it will drop this low at any point at all?
Thanks

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Below that floor, I would assume that the number of potentially qualifying scores would probably increase very dramatically.
In my opinion, you should therefore assume that sub-450 scores are unlikely to result in an Invitation in the mid-term and below 400 probably never.
Is there anything you can do to increase your score?

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Currently, a floor of just over 450 points seems to result in at least 1500 Invitations for each draw.
Below that floor, I would assume that the number of potentially qualifying scores would probably increase very dramatically.

My employer is already getting all the ducks lined up for a Work Permit extension, as I'm only good until 26th October. The alternative is to break out the PNP Nomination letter, which I can submit by the end of August, but that would be silly!

Also, does anyone have any information about the types of qualifications are acceptable. For one thing I have completed a couple of college courses as well as a university degree. And I'm not sure if my college courses would count as having certificates or anything like that for the sake of my application.

Re: Express Entry Scores and Progress Thread
Had my medical yesterday. Hoping to be submitting all my paperwork by the end of next week.
I'm really struggling to get a reference from Home Depot. I've connected with a few people in HR using LinkedIn; asking them who I can reach out to for a reference. One person said "I cannot give you that information", and another person said "I don't know who would be responsible for that."
I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall. How can it be so difficult to get a reference?! I noticed that they do their references online, through an automated system, but I would have thought there would be someone in HR who'd be able to provide an ad-hoc specialised reference.
The way this is going, it looks like I may just have to write a letter of explanation saying that I can't find anyone who can provide a reference. I'll attach payslips (assuming I can find them) and my T4 for that year, I guess, and hope that will suffice.
