Express Entry - Ontario PNP delays/latest info
Just a heads up for anyone who received an Expression of Interest from Ontario via the Express Entry system and submitted the application to attempt to obtain the additional 600 points and ITA for PR that they are absolutely swamped with applications and are not meeting the quoted processing times - 90 days
Some visibility on our experiences to date:
25th January 2016
Expression of Interest letter received from Ontario via Express Entry Profile - 45 day limit to complete application and submit in paper form to Ontario
8th March 2016
Package signed for/received in Ontario a few days within the 45 day limit (10th March cut off)
Website claims the following would occur:
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_FAQ.html
Notifications of:
Receipt of application
Assessment commences
Decision made
6th to 8th June
90 day claimed processing period expires zero contact to date
17th June
Email sent to Ontario with FedEx proof of delivery requesting receipt of application and visibility on processing time referencing above notifications not received.
Auto email received stating the following:
"We appreciate you taking the time to email us with your questions and concerns. Your inquiry is very important and it will be reviewed and answered within 15 days.
We are currently experiencing a delay due to the extremely high volume of calls and emails.
Please note that this office does not respond to status inquiries for applications that are being processed within our standard 90 day processing period"
5th July
Follow up email sent as 15 day response time had expired, no response
15th July
Response received:
"Dear Sir/Madam,
We apologize for the late response.
Your application package has been received in our office and is in queue for review by an officer.
Due to the high volume of applications being received, Acknowledgement Letters may take longer to be issued.
If your application is complete, you will receive the letter from OINP by email to indicate that your application has been accepted for assessment"
Summary:
So our application received 8th March which should have been reviewed/completed by 8th June has not even been looked at yet according to the email.
Patience is a virtue people
I hope the visibility helps others who are experiencing similar?
Regards
