Default Express Entry Application

There is a question on the Express Entry form which is:

Has MY NAME applied to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before?

I have applied for an IEC, but then got too old. I'm not sure if this counts as an application though?

Actually I suspect it does count as looking at my profile on the website the IEC application is there under 'submitted applications'.

Ok I still need advise as they state all immigration communications will have my Unique Client Identifier (UCI) but the IEC doesn't... So now I'm not sure if it does count!

If you were issued a work permit on the IEC then you have a UCI number. If you just applied and didn't get the IEC then no UCI was issued.
The UCI is an 8 digit number which is on the work permit and LOI if issued for the IEC.

I didn't receive a work permit, I just applied for an IEC but then got old before I got an IEC...
Do you think submitting an IEC application counts as me applying though? It is an application of types, but I'm not sure the IEC counts.

I'm thinking the black and white of it is I have submitted and application and so the answer is yes, but I didn't receive an UCI so I just leave that blank. I think it's better to ask the all knowing oracle that is British Expats though before I make any hasty moves.

Ps expect more questions...
