Express Entry
Saying I am not eligible because I don't have a language test. Why do I need a test of English is my 1st language?
|
Re: Express Entry
Because everybody does, no matter where they're from. You'd be amazed at the number of people living in GB that speak barely any English, or even none at all.
So you need to take the IELTS exam if you want to apply under EE, although do check your points score first to make sure it's worth it as otherwise it could be money down the drain. HTH. |
Re: Express Entry
I see the first hand how many people can't speak English ..
How much is the test and where do you go? I'm a security engineer (CCTV, alarms etc) how does that rank on the list? |

So first you need to check that you are eligible and meet the criteria of a Skilled Worker (i.e. have more than 67 points, have taken the IELTS, got your ECA, got enough proof of funds etc) - Determine your eligibility – Federal skilled workers Once you've done that and checked you would be eligible to apply, you need to check your points score on the CRS, as above you'll need more than approx 450 on this to be in with a chance, ideally over 480 to be sure of being selected at some point. Express Entry – Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Criteria HTH. |
Re: Express Entry
Do not underestimate the language test either.
I scored highly - 12 12 11 10 (that was the CELPIP version - only available in Canada. You have to do IELTS outside Canada). but a number of British people on here have either just scraped through or not prepared and failed. At the very least do the practice test at least once. The CELPIP is about $285 in Canada. IELTS will be similar cost. |
