Default Expiry of Passport While waitng for Visa Approval

With the long delays for processing of immigrant applications it is entirely possible
that a passport may need to be renewed. Is this a serious problem or is it simply a
matter of obtaining a new passport and notifying the visa post of the new passport?
Does it cause any significant delays?

It is not a problem at all - new passport's copy must be forwarded to visa post and
it will not cause any delays, unless visa is already issued and needs to be reprinted
(few extra weeks).

No Problem even if visa is issued.Dont send it back to the high commission for
reprint.Staple the old passport to the new one and you can travel. In fact it is very
clearly mentioned on the covering letter which accompanies the visa that pl dont send
it back if u got new passport. Snj.
