Dear experts,
I have received the medical forms from Buffalo 2 weeks ago after a 2 yr wait. About a year ago, a regular medical check up with my doctor showed that I tested TB positive, and I was instructed to take medicine for a few months, which I have done.
Will this be a problem during my medical examinations? Do I have to inform the DMP of this medical history?
Thanks a lot.
M.
P.S. I have read somewhere that having active TB is ground enough for turning down one's PR application.

Hi
Yes you should inform the Dr. It is very unlikely that you have active TB now if it was treated. What will happen is that after the x-ray, the Immigration Medical Officer will tell you to return to the DMP and have sputum tests. Then after they are tested, then you will be required to have another x-ray. There is a good chance that you will require medical surveillance in Canada in that you will have to report to a TB clinic as a requirement on your visa and continue treatment if required.

Thanks a lot, PMM.
Your answer is well taken.
My physician informed me that my X-rays show that I have nothing, and only other tests revealed my previous TB infection. Does the DMP provide those tests?
Cheers,
M

Hi
You may have to go to a clinic for the sputum tests.
