Default Experts: Landing in Canada, Children to Follow

Dear Experts:

Prior to landing, my family and I will spend Christmas in U.S.A. I hold Philippines passport with U.S. tourist visa). After the holidays, my husband and I are going to land first in Toronto, while we leave our 2 children in New Jersey with my mother-in-law as we think it will be difficult looking for a place with young children tagging along.

The question is once we find a place, could we immediately go back to New Jersey to get our kids and then go back to Toronto?

Will not having a PR Card yet be an issue when we re-enter Canada?

I look forward to your assistance. Thanks.
