Default Experts Help! more than 2 years wainting for citizenship hearing

I applied early 2001 for citizenship after mistakenly
concluding that several around-Christmas and obviously temporary
abscences would not be discounted. They were, and I ended up
90 days short of the required time (too exited about becoming a
citizen). So my app. has been gathering dust at St. Clair East,
two subway stations from where I live since Aug. 2001.

In July'03 I managed to speak with a human at the call center
and told me "you'll get a hearing date anytime now". That's
turned out like when the girl tells you "I'll call you".

My app. made it to the "hearing shelf" only until July'02 (I have
a copy of my file obtained by priv. act info req.) So it's been
on the hearing shelf for a year and a half.

Any suggestions what to do? I could withdraw the app. and reapply,
but that means one more year of waiting.

Is there anything I can do? Is there any way to find out how longer
it will take to get a citizenship hearing date in Toronto?

Thanks in advance!

Ask your MP to intercede for you. It may bring things to a head.
