Default Expert Help Needed Please! (Inland Spousal Application - Fingerprints requested.)

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I've done a search and can find similar circumstances but not quite the same.

I've just received a letter from CIC (Vegreville) requesting I submit original set of my fingerprints. There's no mention of them wanting an RCMP check - just the prints, but isn't that all they could want them for? (I've lived in Canada since Nov 2005.) I'm just reluctant to only send ink prints which I can get done at my local RCMP station if I can speed things up by going to Commissionaires, getting electronic ones taken, and having them send the results of the security check to CIC in 72hrs (as opposed to it taking several months the normal route!)

Is it possible to get original prints *and* the police check results sent to Vegreville from Commissionaires? (I've asked Commissionaires the same question via email but thought I might get a speedier response here!)

Thanks,
Alex

Follow their instruction since it could be for a foreign request. In any case their requests of the RCMP are given a high priority. You are just unlucky and probable have a name that is the same as someone with a conviction.

Thanks Jim. I'll get them done locally then and wait and see...

My wife was asked to provide hers....nobody else in the family. She had her's taken digitally which takes about 20 working days....

Our immigration lawyer said that she probably has the same/similar name to somebody in Canada who has committed a crime
