Default Entering on a visitors visa and then activating my TWP

Hi folk,

I got an Irish version of a BUNAC visa for a year and I am planning to head out to Canada in May. As I am thinking of doing some volunteering and traveling in the rocky mountains for the summer I was thinking of entering Canada as a tourist and then going to Seattle for a day in say September and re-entering Canada with my years visa.

I thought I would just ask what you all think of that idea and if there are any obvious problems. The irish Bunac can tell me very little.

thanks
