Emmigrate

Hi all
New to the group so apologies for the lack of knowledge. I have been trying to research how to become a permanent resident and am getting confused. I am a qualified probation officer in the UK and am currently working as a substance misuse team leader. My husband is a building site foreman. I have completed the online eligibility but don't appear to meet the criteria, unsure why (maybe my age 43). Also my degrees etc were gained in the UK. Are there particular provinces that would employ certain roles?
Thanks, Claire

Hi, welcome to BE.

Your age may be the issue, unfortunately you will have less points than somebody in their 20's. But you mention 'degrees' so I'd be surprised if you weren't scoring high enough to qualify as a Skilled Worker. Can I ask, what amount did you put for proof of funds, and did you get asked about an English language test (if so, what did you say)?

Hi there,

I have no knowledge of the criminal service here in NS but I can tell you that I work with a lot of construction companies and all are screaming out for workers. Have you looked into possibly your husband getting a job and having his employer bring you guys over? It may sound like a long shot but I know of companies that have done it and continue to do it.
