Default Effect on my visa processing

I left my last job in March,2003 and came to Australia to my doctorate. Just wanted to know that whether my leaving the job and started studying could affect in any way my current processing of visa. I have received the assessment letter stating that I will require an interview and they have also sent me the medical documents. They have also requested for some additional information for background check.
