EE score 432- thoughts?
Hi all,
trying to work out how good my express entry score is, I've for 432 as FSW scheme (I'm a nurse in the UK trying to move my qualifications over) how good do you think that score is? I've been in the Express entry pool now since may the 11th. (not that express really!!) thanks Josh |
Re: EE score 432- thoughts?
Sorry to say, but not good enough, the points requirement hasn't gone that low since May 2017, so over 4 years ago.
Although your score is better than you'd calculated before, it's still a long way off the cut off (https://britishexpats.com/forum/cana.../). At the moment there are almost 60,000 people in the pool scoring higher than you, so I can't see that points threshold dropping anytime soon unfortunately. Any way of getting your points up, can you maybe give us a breakdown of your score so we can see if they can be improved anywhere? And personal question I know, but how old are you? Will you lose points anytime soon due a birthday or are you young enough for that not to matter? |

What does your partner score, is s/he in the pool as well? Although older, it looks as though s/he has higher education and better IELTS scores than you? So may be scoring more. Either of you speak any French at all? |
Re: EE score 432- thoughts?
we got the same IELTS, other than him scoring 8.5 on writing and me scoring 8.
he isn't in the pool himself, he's on my application as a spouse, he has a doctorate and a degree assessed by WEs. We both speak basic french, (I speak it to GCSE level) but only just enough to get by, so unsure if a french exam would actually make me loose points!!! lol any tips? I feel so stuck. |

Re: EE score 432- thoughts?
Apparently as a spouse his points are capped for education even if it is a doctorate. (he isn't a medical doctor it's a doctorate of linguistics)

I'm suggesting he is the principal applicant, and you are the spouse. So check his own score and see if it would make more sense for him to be the applicant instead, looks to me as though he'll score a good chunk more than you.
JD1990 What does your partner do for a living - what is his NOC code? There may be other avenues (streams) open to you (as a couple) if he is the lead applicant.:) |
Re: EE score 432- thoughts?
he is a lecturer NOC 4011 "University professors and lecturers" - I don't think he'd qualify for EE?

https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/Structure/Noc...cceHdpg77sU%3D I'd suggest that you use the 'calculator' to assess what the points would be if he was the lead applicant and you were on it as an accompanying partner/spouse. :) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...d-workers.html https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick...an_Immigration |
