Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone could give us a few pointers.
We (my husband, young son and I) would love to move over to Canada but aren't sure whether we have a shot, so were wondering what you think...
I'm 27 with three years as an HR professional (currently as an HR Manager), I have a Bachelors degree (and have had the WES evaluation) and an IELTS score of 8.5 (taken July 2016). I have been studying an HR qualification through distance learning at BCIT since Sept 2016.
My husband (32) has been a tree surgeon for the last two years and has an IELTS score of 9.0.
We have the funds specified on the express entry available but neither of us have any experience of working in Canada. As my husband is over 30 he can't apply for the working visa.
Do you think we would have a chance of gaining entry with my husband's job via a company that might sponsor him? He doesn't have ISA certification as not needed in UK but wondering if he should get this?
What would be the best route for us to go down do you think? I did try to submit an express entry profile in September 2016 but it was automatically denied.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

HI
1, You should be the principal applicant. Do a check on Immigrate as a skilled worker through Express Entry and calculate your points. If you have over about 430 you should be good to go, the April 12th draw was 423 to receive an ITA

And just to add to PMM's advice (you should definitely be eligible to enter the EE pool from what you've said, so it's just a case of checking you'd score enough to get an ITA), if you decide against EE for any reason then you could still get an IEC. I know that your husband couldn't, but once you were working in a skilled job on an IEC, he'd then be able to get an open work permit for the same duration so that's another option.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.
