Default Educational Credential Assessments

Hi,

My wife has had her ECA results today. Her results are as follows:

3 Year bachelor’s degree:
Academic Transcript - Accepted
Final Degree Cert - Not accepted due to missing graduation date. So we are getting that resent ASAP.

1 Year PGCE - PGCE not awarded due to failed Maths, but completed all modules and got the 120 credits. University sent over a supplemental letter explaining this.
Academic Transcript - Accepted

Does this mean that the 1 year PGCE will now count as "Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years." from a CRS points perspective? (Once we get the final degree cert issue rectified, of course!)

Matt

Not sure if i put enough information here. Below is a screenshot from WES. The University have just sent off the Degree Cert to confirm the dates of the 3 year bachelors degree, apparently the University only sent the transcripts the first time round. The 1 year PGCE transcripts have been accepted.

From a CIC perspective, is it just the Academic transcript that are required, or the Cert also?

That's not the results of the WES evaluation - that's the list of things they'll use to make their evaluation. You'll be told by WES what it counts as when they perform the evaluation.

The applicant is meant to send the degree certificate to WES not the college/university.

Ohh.. that makes sense lol. Hopefully it will be evaluated shortly after receiving the certificate. It's been showing a status of "Evaluation in Progress" for 30 days so far! Perhaps wishful thinking on the PGCE Academic year if there's no final cert though!

In the details section they have requested a copy from "the awarding institution" "This should be sent in a sealed envelope that is stamped or signed across the back flap by the appropriate official."

Yeah, if the PGCE wasn't awarded, I'd be surprised if she gets the points for it (but equivalization is always an entertaining art, so you never know). As you say, all the parts must be sent directly to WES by the institution (to avoid any tampering/forgery by the applicant)

In certain situations your university maybe able to send a 'electronic' form of your degree assessment to WES.
I had my credentials assesed via WES and my University (Manchester) basically emailed them over. It saved all the hassle of getting a stamped assessment and posting it over.

I would ask your institution if they are able to send it over via your alumni. The link is below (option 3):
https://www.wes.org/ca/required-documents/
"
Option 3

If your institution uses Digitary® or Gradintel, you may provide WES with access to your electronic document. Visit your institution's website and follow the directions for granting WES access to your documents online. Access should be sent to the following email accounts:

For Digitary: [email protected]
For Gradintel: [email protected]
"

Looks like WES have a pretty useful online system for tracking progress. I know there are a few options for the ECA. Is the general consensus that WES is the best?
