Default E-Status not for Americans?

Hey guys,

I try checking my E-status & it tells me that since I have applied under skilled immigration category it is not available to me. Does everyone under skilled immigration category get the same msg? Just checking ....

There is something wrong here because the CIC website specifically says that
skilled workers are one of the categories covered by eStatus.

Does anyone know who updates it? Does it fall to each officer to update the
case they are working on personaly? I just wonder why there appear to be so
many discrepancies at visa posts. For example I am being sponsored by my
spouse and my application has been with CHC London now for over 4 months, I
have my AOR and File Number etc however I still don't appear on the
e-status. I can find my wife ie the sponsor on there using her clientID or
the fee receipt number however on hers it states my PR status as not
available and with my own details it just doesnt find me. It seems odd that
for a family class case, at CHC London would not be updated at all when i
know other people at CHC London both family class and skilled worker who
applied before or fater me whoc an see their status.
So i wondered if perhaps whoever created my file just overlooked the estatus
because it was new and they werent used to it maybe and then it hasnt been
updated since because no one has looked at my file since?

It is true that the E-Client is giving problems technical or otherwise.

This is my experience with the CIC thing:

I could get into CIC status only just before i received Assessment letter.
All the times i checked it said, something like..."Skilled applicants can't access the E-Client.....".

I sent the medicals/Additional Docs in the 3rd week of Oct'2002.
When i checked the E-Client Y'day, it said, "My Decision is Made. A letter was sent 0n 23rd Nov'2002."

To my surprise, when i checked it again, it said, "A letter was sent to my XXXXX address and if it is sent to a wrong address, please contact us immdtly....." (Something like that.)
What does that mean.( Did they mail the letter & updated the status...)

This means my status is changed twice in 2 days.

We cann't go into CIC E-Client with IE 6.0 Ver browser. Is any one using IE 6.0 Browser for E-Client.
Thanks

I am using IE 6 without any problems on e-client service. Most problems are
due to the cache not being deleted on exit, so make sure that your browser
settings are to delete cache (Temporary Internet Files) on exit and also do
it manually (including deleting all offline content) before you attempt to
use e-client.

Here is what the web site says:

At this time, you may use this on-line service to view the status of your
application if you have:

sponsored a member of the family class
applied for permanent residence as a member of the family class
applied for permanent residence from within Canada as the spouse or
common-law partner of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
applied as an independent immigrant (for applicants who applied before
January 1, 2002), a Québec skilled worker, a provincial nominee, a federal
skilled worker, an investor, an entrepreneur, or a self-employed person

So you yes it covers skilled worker applications
