E-Client update

Just checked my status and it had been updated with this

We sent you a letter on August 05, 2005 to,
about approval in principle for you to become a Permanent
Resident of Canada. If this address is not
correct, please contact us. Thank you.

Can anyone tell me anything about this?

Is this good news?

Re: E-Client update

I got my AIP today :D

It says I can now apply for an open work permit :D

Going to send that off tomorrow but I was wondering if anyone else has applied for an open work permit. Is there a good chance of getting and how long do you think it will take?

Thanks

Once you have your AIP the open work permit is pretty much a sure thing. I applied for mine on June 26th and it arrived this week!! Make sure you send a copy of your AIP with your application.

Good luck!

Re: E-Client update

Also in the letter was a request for a criminal record check from the FBI and the state of Illinois. I sent the FBI prints off straight away but I had to wait for the Illinois print card to arrive.

Upon arriving I read the info sent with it and it said the fee to process the prints is $20 US but $50 if the check is not drawn on a US bank  . I'm applying from within Canada and I would like to know if I'm going to have to pay the $50 US or is there a way I can pay the $20. I know it's not a lot money but I'd rather not spend it if I don't have to.

All the best
Thanks
:D

Go to your local bank and request a certified cheque drawn on a US bank, if the teller doesn't understand what you want, go further up the food chain, someone in the bank will understand what you want.
