Default Dual Citizenship

What is the most expedited way to acquire dual citizenship with Canada? I am a US citizen. My grandfather was a Canadian citizen. Does that count for anything? Thanks in advance.

You could do the research and see if you are able to derive citizenship through your father (if ever was registered) but it is probably unlikely. Otherwise you are going to have to apply as permanent resident. See: www.cic.gc.ca If you receive permanent resident status, it takes a further 3 years to become a citizen.
