Default Driving ticket

Hi:

I have a ticket for running a red light in Ontario. Would that affect
my immigration? Do I have to admit this on my application?

Thanks,
Neel

Thanks for your prompt reply. Just to clarify, so you mean I can
choose NO for the question where they ask:

Have you, been convicted of, or are you currently charged with, on
trial for, or party to a crime or offence, or subject of any criminal
proceedings in any country?

Appreciate your reply

Neel

the word pay attention to is CRIMINAL; running the light do not consider
criminal.

Running a red light is not a criminal offence.

Neel
But the text Neel quotes says "...party to a crime or offence" it doesn't say *criminal* offence. Presumably being charged with running a red light counts as an offence albiet not a criminal one???

Having said that loads of applicants must have minor traffic offences so one would hope Immigration wouldn't reject just for a minor traffic offence.

You're fine (no pun intended). This is a summary offence, not a
criminal offence.

So to conclude, I can answer NO to the question I posted previously, can't I?

As long as you can truthfully do that, then you certainly can. A
traffic ticket that you described doesn't warrant a 'yes' answer to that
question.
