Depending on what goes down with my employment, I may have to move to Canada
(Toronto). Now, I recently had my NYS driver's license revoked for a year courtesy of
a DWI. I am hoping that I am allowed to obtain a license in Canada regardless.
Thanks for any help.

Drivers from the United States, Japan, Republic of Korea, Austria, Germany,
Switzerland or Canadian Forces - Europe
2 or More Years of Driving Experience Within the Last Three Years
If you are a licensed driver with two or more years of driving experience from one of
these jurisdictions, you may get full Class G licence privileges without taking a
knowledge or road test. However, you must pass a vision test and show acceptable
proof of your previous licence status and driving experience.
Note: These conditions also apply to licensed motorcycle riders from the United
States. However there is currently no exchange agreement for motorcycle riders
from any other jurisdiction.
Less than 2 Years of Driving Experience Within the Last Three Years
If you have less than two years experience, you may get credit for your experience
for graduated licensing and be issued a Class G2 licence. Once you have a total of
two years of driving experience, you may take the G2 road test to earn full driving
privileges.
Ontario takes drinking and driving seriously,
Check out the website, but there is nothing specific about a DWI on your current
license. I would imagine using common sense since it is revoked, it's not in good
standing, therefore non transferable. You will probably have to start from scratch if
even at all.
Check out the website for Ontario Driver Licenses.

He or she may find that to be the least of their problems. A DWI, especially a recent
one, may render him inadmissable to Canada.
