Default Does pharmacist internship require a LMO in alberta?

a friend of mine is a pharmacist who's trying to get a work permit, to work as a pharmacist he needs to register with Alberta college of pharmacists, to register he must work as a pharmacist intern for 6 months, and this certainly require a work permit, now here is the question there is no NOC for pharmacist intern, so do they go under pharmacits or a special category? do they require LMO as pharmacists don't in alberta? anybody is similar situation? as he already got an offer and not sure how to move from there.

Thank you Andrew for you reply I thought so as well

MiddleOfNowhere thank you for your input but can you elaborate? do you mean you need LMO for interns specifically in Alberta? and if yes what NOC would be used? could it be that LMO is needed even if pharmacist NOC (3131) is used?
as you can see here, pharmacists are exempted from LMO

You should read all on the page you mentioned very, very carefully and ask a lot of questions as it is clear now that you are quite confused and making wrong assumptions.

Where it states that Pharmacists are LMO exempt???

They are on Alberta's Occupations Under Pressure List - but it doesn't mean that they are LMO exempt. It only means that employer needs 7 days of job advertising on Canada's Job Bank before applying for LMO, instead of standard 3 months advertising in various media.

Don't make wrong assumptions by reading only what you want to read.
