Looks like Buffalo is still creating files for apps received on or after Feb 27, 2008, regardless what is happening with Bill C-50.

I have received few AOR letters this Monday (all dated June 4th) with file numbers for cases without AE received by Buffalo in first week of March.

That is good news, at least applications aren't just sat in a holding file doing absolutely nothing. I know it doesn't mean they will get processed any quicker but some progress (any progress) is a bonus for those of us wanting to go to Canada.

It all depends from what Instructions issued by Minister will say. But we are not taking any chances - all my clients are getting jobs and files are being updates as we speak.

No, they are not. If they would be already working in Canada and be eligible to claim arranged employment then we would not have submitted their applications to Buffalo, we would have submitted them to proper visa posts as per applicant's nationality (at least most of them).

Those clients are either Americans or H1B visa holders. Now they are all already secured or are securing jobs in Canada.

submitting to Visa office in their home countries actually could make the process much quicker. People who are already in Canada have a choice sending to either baffulo or else where. HK is a great example. a lots Chinese applicants sent theirs to HK visa office and finished their process within 6 months. Keep my finger cross for CEC now.
thanks Andrew.

Senate started hearings almost as soon as House started debating the Bill, without waiting for the conclusion. Fact that they already done with 2 readings in one day may be a good indication that Bill may pass this week...

Hi Andrew or anyone,

Just want to ask if I am eligible for an lmo(restaurant manager- SKill 0 ) and get an arranged employment? In case, how long is the application for permanent residency at Buffalo? Thanks in advance.

Impossible to say. Prior to announced changes to the law Buffalo didn't give any special priority to cases with arranged employment, they were processed at the same pace as cases without AE - 12 to 24+ months, depending from many factors, including how well prepared, complete and conclusive application package was and how long was background/security check.

Announcement of pending changes may create a little bit speed increase for cases with arranged employment though, but it won't happen until about end of this year when normally case submitted in March would get into initial assessment stage.

It is all speculation though as we are talking about future.

2. Hi Andrew,

Been reading this thread hoping for some clarification on our situation but am still confused. We sent in our skilled worker app. in February. It was recieved on 22.2.08 according to royal mail tracking service. When we recieved our letter from CHC with our file number the date on that was 10.3.08. Do you have any idea as to whether our app. will be treated as pre Feb 27 or post Feb 27? It was simplified form sent to London without PNP or arrranged empolyment.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

tracys
