Does London Office require submition of Passports

Does London Office require submition of Passports
Hello every one,
In case of London UK processing office, does it require applicant who
may be living outside the country for example Dubai, to submit their
passports and travel documents before issuence of immigration visa to
them? I know for sure that before they do not do this and send the
landing paper directly without asking for passports, but I dont know
if this has changed now.

There is no more landing paper - now every immigrant must submit passport
and visa is permanently affixed into it. Once you receive request for
passport you'll have some options described in the letter.

Hello Rosina,
Yes this application was for family sponsorship from Gulf and
submitted in Jan 2002. Interview was called on October 2002. Medicals
were requested in December 2002. They have not yet asked for passport,
but I am assuming that they will ask soon.

Thanks for the info . We are Skilled worker class applied in Feb 2002 and waiting for interview . Incidentally where was your interview? In London or Abu Dhabi Etc .?

Imran,
If you are residing in the Middle East, you will get a request to send
passports to CHC London with an option to send them to the Abu Dhabi
consulate. This process takes a bit longer - first you have to send
copies of your passports to London and after approx. 2 weeks you will
get a letter from Abu Dhabi asking you to send original passports to
them.
