Default Do we mention it it? Ancestry Visa for UK?

We are just finishing off our paperwork to finally submit for spousal application and I am unsure whether or not to mention the fact that my wife had an ancestry visa refused for entry into the UK, however this was BEFORE her ILR etc was granted and she has been here without problem in the UK.

Does her failed acestry visa have any effect / implications for our visa application "going the other way"? Should we even mention it or just leave it out? I have a feeling if we leave it out altogether and they do some investigation and find out, it would look like we were hiding something?

Thanks

Answer questions that are asked. Don't answer questions that are not asked. So was this question asked?

I can see exactly what you're saying but my query specifically relates to question 9 on IMM5490 and development of the relationship. The reason I say this, is because the refusal meant we decided to get married sooner rather than later, it didn't change the reason we got married, just the timing.

But as you say, answer what is asked, no more no less.

Thanks for your help.
